As my five-year term as President of the 180 East Pearson Street Homeowners’ Association comes to an end, I would be remiss if I failed to express my appreciation to Lieberman Management Services. Lieberman was appointed managing agent for The Residences at The Water Tower in March 2007, and assumed management of the property in May. The Groves of Palatine is a community that prides itself on providing its with a high quality of living. Three separate Boards currently work together to accomplish this goal and one would assume that communication and coordination could be quite difficult. This was the case until Lieberman Management Services was contracted in 2006. Previous to LMS coming on board with The Groves, the community would have struggled to be the respectable downtown community it is today. There were numerous issues with inconsistent service levels from contractors, fiscal irresponsibility with budgeting, and poor communication among the Boards and its residents. LMS has focused on improving and providing the assistance needed so the three Boards work in a more efficient and effective manner. I believe this decision to bring LMS in has allowed The Groves to progress as a community. This task has been accomplished due to the professional staff and their passion for our community.

Over the last five years, a strong business relationship has been created with our Property and Regional Managers, Elizabeth Mosier and Laurie Wishnoff. I am very impressed with their professionalism and administrative abilities which have provided a strong foundation for our community to thrive. They have not only taken great pride to provide the best customer service possible but have involved themselves at a level that I feel is an invaluable asset to The Groves. LMS has done an excellent job staffing their company with professional and knowledgeable individuals. The support staff in Resident Services has brought a new level of customer service and satisfaction for the residents of The Groves.  The website service offered by LMS is a convenient and effective way to meet their client’s needs and allows for residents to voice any concerns and receive feedback without having to make a phone call.

Our Association has had Sonja Henry as our property manager for the last three years. We appreciate that Sonja has remained our property manager, after having had two property managers before whose tenures were not as long. This has enabled me, the President, and the Board to develop a good working relationship with Sonja, who is intelligent and personable. Sonja has a wealth of experience and is a great resource for our Association. Sonja regularly attends our Board meetings, assisting us with all facets of managing a large condominium complex. She arranges meetings, provides contractors for us to consider, gathers proposals and generally handles the workings of our Association. Lieberman’s website is great for owners to log in to find out all kinds of information about our Association. The Board Room, which is a private site for Board members only, is a great resource for us. We have a good working relationship with all the staff at Lieberman, and they try very hard to assist us whenever the need arises.

In July 2001 the Associations were turned over to the homeowners and LMS was the management company for the developers. The turnover was flawless, and although the new Board did not know what to expect, LMS anticipated our needs and educated us, holding seminars for new Boards, with clear explanations of all the services LMS was responsible for and working with us during our search for an on-site property manager. LMS has always been available to us for anything that might arise, resident services gets better all the time for all our homeowners; our property manager is a gem, our community is humming. Ten years later the partnership is still going strong.

LMS has been our management team since August 2010. Previously we were managed by a highly visible firm for many years. Although we were not completely satisfied, we hesitated to take on the grueling task of once again identifying that perfect partnership. We began the search reluctantly, but to our amazement the first encounter with LMS was enough to convince us that the search was over. John Santoro, Vice President Chicago Division, gave an excellent presentation. By the end of the session, we all agreed that the potential for partnership was evident. The transition was efficient and painless. LMS continues to demonstrates their accountability, cutting edge technology, integrity, expertise, resources, and have a knowledgeable and dedicated staff. The Board had been seeking what seemed to be the impossible from our previous company: the access to our financial report prior to our monthly Board meeting held on the first Thursday of each month. We had asked many times and met many times with that management firm to provide us with this important tool. – It never happened. LMS accomplished the impossible, effortlessly!
